It’s Tuesday morning, October 2nd, about 10:40, and we’re in the Great Dismal Swamp Canal. Here’s what it looks like…
So far we’ve seen a few cranes and one turtle. No bears, bobcats, snakes or other such “locals” we’re told can be seen in the swamp.

This is the morning we entered the Dismal Swamp Canal – we anchored overnight just north of the Deep Creek Lock. Very nice place!
